Creating an eco-friendly, affordable, multi-generational cohousing community in Northern California.

We are forming an eco-friendly and multi-generational, senior-friendly community that values meaningful connections, diversity, and privacy. Our vision is to cultivate a supportive and affordable community where people can gracefully age in place, whether that is near-term or long-term. The dining hall will serve vegan meals, and residents can eat according to their own preferences in their own homes. There will be a community garden that supplies us with organic produce. We are currently searching for a site in West Sonoma County or Mendocino County, California.

What is Cohousing?

Cohousing is community designed to foster connection. The physical design encourages both social contact and individual space. Private homes contain all the features of conventional homes, and residents also have access to extensive common facilities including a community kitchen, dining space and gardens that bring people together. Collaborative decision-making builds relationships.

Why Cohousing?

So many reasons. In a way, it all comes down to making the world a better place. Connection, environmentalism, security, affordability, sustainability, and community support all draw people to cohousing communities. People stay in cohousing because they love their neighbors, the lifestyle they share and the growth they experience.

Join us in forming a community where people want to be good neighbors and work together to create a better world for everyone.

“Cohousing is about living the good life while using less of the earth’s resources, and having a good time doing it.”

— Katie McCamant
